Our offering is the result of 12 years of technology development and integrations, built by a multifunctional development and design team, with capabilities spanning mobile application development, billing, distribution, financial technology transactions, as well as complex third-party interfacing.
OUR PLATFORM
FREI’s proprietary platform, TradeSwitch®, is a full end-to-end digital enablement platform that allows central access to several functionalities traditionally provided by disparate systems and multiple interfaces.
Our multi-tenant Software as a Service (SaaS) MVNO solution is compliant with ICASA regulations and provides prospective customers with a fully configurable solution based on their strategic requirements and envisioned user experience.
TradeSwitch® combines MVNE, FinTech, and Electronic Value Distribution functionality, as well as a mobile application, to provide a rich digital experience to customers, with mobile connectivity acting as the conduit through which additional services can be delivered.

MOBILE TELEPHONY
Network access and services
Access to traffic types that include voice, data, messaging, USSD, emergency dialling, international dialling, premium rated services, and over-the-air service provider name updating.
Products and Tariffs
The ability and flexibility to tailor all telco product offerings including rate plans, bundles, behaviour incentivised value, and customer segmentation-based pricing using our own real-time, prepaid Online Charging System (OCS).
Electronic voucher distribution
Generate and redeem unique pin-based airtime and value bundles.
Vend Network Operator airtime, prepaid electricity, ticketing, lotto, and utility payments.
Systems
Opensource mobile application, customer relationship management, real-time rating through a built-in online charging system, wholesale billing capability, and distribution and SIM management.
FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY
Digital wallet
Fiat and digital asset smart wallet for end-users and distribution agents as well as the ability to integrate into external wallets and loyalty programmes.
Electronic funds transfer (EFT)
Inter-wallet funds transfers, wallet re-charge through credit and debit cards (through the mobile application), instant EFT, electronic deposits and withdrawals.
Payments
Mobile and standalone point of sale integration capability, wallet credit payments, and commission management.

WHAT IS AN MVNO?
A core component of FREI’s offering is the provision of Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) services through our proprietary TradeSwitch® SaaS platform.
An MVNO is a wireless communications service provider that does not own the wireless network infrastructure over which it provides services to its customers.
An MVNO is responsible for its own customer service, marketing, distribution, and sales personnel and can set bespoke retail prices for mobile voice, data, SMS, and other Mobile Network Operator (MNO) services.
WHY BUILD AN MVNO?
In today’s rapidly evolving world, customers view their mobile phones as an indispensable part of their daily lives with the average user unlocking their device around 150 times a day. Consequently, the most effective and relevant channel to a brand’s customer is via their mobile devices.
Creating a mobile competency is therefore becoming increasingly important for every brand, not only in creating a channel to customers, but also acting as a conduit for additional products, initiatives, and digital migration strategies.
The creation of a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) allows an organisation to leverage its superior customer relationship and brand affinity in creating a mobile offering that complements its customer requirements and provides the base from which to integrate existing product ecosystems and rewards programmes.
